 Under the immediate direction of a Senior Coding Manager, the Coding Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of coding for multiple clients. This position will work closely with contract coders, QA and the Sr. Coding Manager to ensure timely and accurate coding according to contractual requirements. In this role, responsibilities include the monitoring and assurance of timely and accurate coding of all accounts, handling payroll, interviewing and hiring contractors, resolving client questions/concerns and other duties as needed.

 Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors or Associates Degree is preferred.
 Experience: Minimum 3 years of progressive coding supervisory or managerial experience 
5+ years coding experience.
 Credentials: Certified as CPC or CCS-P --- additional specialty credentials preferred
Position Responsibilities:
·               Monitors accuracy and completion of all work on a daily basis.
·               Manages all aspects of the contract coders and QA.
·               Recognizes accuracy and workflow problems and performs quality management studies to verify existence and/or extent                  of problems. Makes recommendations for appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
·               Responsible for departmental hiring, discipline and termination of contract coders and QA.
·               Keeps abreast of all medical coding compliance rules and laws
·               Communicates with clients to resolve issues/concerns.
·               Reports to Sr. Coding Manager on any coding, client, QA or contractor concerns.
·               Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assessment.
·               Maintains professional growth and development.
·               Serves as a positive role model
·               Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competency, provides                        orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
·               Minimal travel required.
