Contract ANESTHESIA CODER - Aviacode is looking for a handful of experienced anesthesia coder.  This is for a long-term remote contract coding position.

Reports to: Coding Supervisor/Manager
Employment Status: Remote Contracted (1099) Position
Position: Remote Contracted (1099) Position
Pay: varies per project but is comparable to $25+ an hour.
Minimum Hours: You must be able to commit a minimum of 15 hours a week
Maximum Hours:  40+ There is no maximum, you can work as much as you want.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing high quality anesthesia coding
  • This is a 15-40+ hour week position.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPC or equivalent through the AAPC or AHIMA
  • CANPC preferred, but not required
  • Must have at least 2 years of active Anesthesia coding experience.
    • Including the ability to code CPT procedures
    • Including the ability to code and crosswalk ASA codes
    • Including the ability to code ICD-10 to the highest specificity
    • Including experience with Medical Direction
  • Must have PQRS experience (experience with measures 193, 30, 76, 44 is a plus)
  • Must have proof of passing an ICD-10 Proficiency or Readiness Assessment through the AAPC or AHIMA
  • Signed contract with Aviacode
  • Must obtain a business license within 90 days IF your state requires it.
  • Must reside on U.S. Soil
  • Must have your own CURRENT CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC, and ASA crosswalk books
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • This is a CONTRACT position for a long-term project
  • You will be coding anesthesia and the ICD-10 codes
  • Most coders on this project average 10+ claims per hour.
  • Must complete a certain number of charts per pay period.
  • Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate.
  • Mandatory interactive, live-online training required (paid)
  • You will be paid twice a month on the 10th and 25th. The pay periods go from 1-15 and 16-31.
  • This is a 1099 position.
  • Must have a Windows Based Operating System (MAC is not compatible).
  • If performance is good there is an opportunity to move to a FTE or supervisory position.
