Position Summary

  • The Project Manager is the primary person responsible for managing, coordinating, and driving large-scale client implementations, departmental projects, and/or corporate initiatives.  Achieved by setting deadlines, conducting regular status meetings, communications, and monitoring.  Ensures timeliness and effectiveness in completion of projects, while obtaining client approval and overall satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Work with stakeholders to understand project’s goals, plans and requirements.  Assist in identifying needed resources and milestones, defining roles and responsibilities for the project.
  1. Define, develop, and execute detailed project deliverables timely, helping to drive cross-departmental team members to task completion. Ensure project tasks are up-to-date daily.
  1. Identify potential project risks, communicating risks to stakeholders.  Develops and executes mitigation strategies, with guidance as needed.
  1. Document project deliverables, scope and status. Prepares and provides reports on task and deliverable completion. Develops and executes project communication plans. As needed, prepares presentations on findings to inform and suggests recommendations. 
  1. Create and manage process-related documentation, including training documents, knowledge articles, project plans, etc.
  1. Builds strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure strong support for project objectives and for issue resolution.
  1. Ensure all project queries are handled quickly and appropriate.
  1. As part of client implementations, serve as the customer’s business advisor and project leader. 
    1. Ensure customer knows where to obtain additional assistance from Aviacode when needed.  
    2. Coordinate transitions from sales to implementation and to post-implementation support and client management.
    3. Share knowledge about the customer’s implementation with colleagues who will likely interact with the customer in the future. 
    4. Keep others informed about the implementation status and issues that may impact client relations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience in medical coding, billing or healthcare-related back office operations or demonstrated understanding.
  • Experience integrating with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management (PM) systems.
  • 3+ years’ work experience in a Project Management role with proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end implementations for at least 5 projects at once.
  • Experience creating, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible, self-starter, working well in a group setting or solo.  Autonomous and solution-oriented, while engaging senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and relationship skills.
  • Strong creative thinking skills to find better solutions as necessary.
  • Ability to recognize and create/streamline existing processes as necessary.
  • Ability to work with and to interpret technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to speak with authority to clients and present on behalf of the company.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%.
